I just returned from the lovely little outsider, Tasmania. Everyone seemed a lot less retarded than most people expect. Although I found that majority of Tasmanians I met were kind of rude and patronising. I like how people do that; go to a new place and make a comment on the people who live there as a whole, rather than as individuals. I don't actually like it, it just makes me laugh.
I enjoyed an itchy sit-down on the grass at Falls Festival and giggled about the foreign concept of covering my poo with sawdust instead of having the luxury of a flushing toilet. I didn't mind - until they ran out of sawdust. The bands were pretty good, but to be honest I don't enjoy festivals all that much.
On the way back to Sydney I bought a magazine called Peppermint - an eco fashion mag (somewhat Frankie like but more for greenies). It was enjoyable until I started picking up on far too many grammatical mistakes than acceptable. On a lighter note, the interview with Daryl Hannah was super interesting and inspiring. She talks about her 'whole system' approach to life. She owns a moss lounge which she hoses monthly (probably using water from her grey water system), lives in a restored barn which she renovated with recycled, non-toxic materials and is 'off-the-grid' which means she is self sufficient in her home - spring water, home grown food, solar power - you name a daily essential and she's doing it the environmentally friendly way. http://www.dhlovelife.com/
Peace peace peacey peaaace.
